NIT Alumni: Where are they now? ...with Felipe Bolaños, Class 16
Felipe Bolaños, Class 16
Current place of residence: Stuttgart, Germany
Currently working as: Expert Supply Chain Purchasing / Data analytics at Robert Bosch GmbH
Where are you currently working and what is the biggest issue that you are facing at work or what is currently keeping you busy there?
In the purchasing area, we constantly face challenges in vendor management and material bottlenecks. Currently, topics such as holistic risk management, supply chain resilience, and new legislation, like the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, keep me occupied. Additionally, working as a data analyst in a central corporate role for a global company presents a continuous challenge in terms of accessing and making data available.
Has there been a professional challenge since you were a student for which your studies or experiences at the NIT have prepared you for perfectly?
My experience at the NIT helped me develop the ability to work with tight schedules and deadlines. However, I believe the most valuable asset I gained from the program is the heightened sensitivity I acquired for working with people from diverse professional backgrounds and cultures. In global companies, leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams towards a common goal can be a significant challenge.
What has happened in your private life in the meantime?
Undoubtedly, a lot has happened since my time at the NIT and summarizing it in just a few lines would be a challenge. However, I would like to highlight two significant events, namely getting married and embarking on a three-month honeymoon with my wife.
What is your most precious / special / remarkable memory from your time studying at the NIT?
Along with studying until late in the evening and attending seminars on weekends, I have fond memories of the amazing parties we hosted in the music room and the common room. Additionally, celebrating our birthdays at the NIT also holds a special place in my heart.
